Line: Studies on culture
This line is directed to the analysis of the forms of creation and reproduction of meanings, as well as its diffusion in the present and past regional societies. In the understanding that all production of meaning and the discourses and actions that regulate the significant practices of society are related to the structure of power that delineates them. Likewise, it is proposed to review the intersubjective and symbolic processes that trace social action to interpret the mechanisms of cultural reelaboration and the emergence of new social actors.

- Family, youth, gender and sexuality

- Education, actors and teaching-learning processes
- History and regional memory
Line: Productive vocations and their social, economic and environmental impacts
This line is oriented to the analysis and characterization of the productive organization of the regions, as well as the effects that this has on the social environment and the environment, in a context in which it is committed to competition, the use of technologies and the exploitation or overexploitation of resources. It is intended to put into tension current debates on the possibility of generating sustainable development that allows the conservation of the natural environment and human welfare, both affected by economic development.

- Technologization, productivism and pollution (soil, water, air)
- Over-exploitation of resources, extractivism and dispossession
- Regional economy
- Demographic dynamics
- Health and quality of life
- Work, poverty and marginalization
Line: Regional and local expressions of politics and politics
This line starts from the existing debate between politics and the political to account for the practices, discourses and power exercises of social subjects in the processes of collective action, institutionalization and construction of new public spaces, new identities, new relationships between the State and society; all of the above, in a regional context.

Line: Space, territory and region
This line is oriented to give an account of the processes of social appropriation of the geographic space and production of the territory and the region. This is based on the idea that the concepts of space, territory and region are expressions of the spatialization of power and the social practices of cooperation or conflict that this entails, as well as other significant social practices.
The theoretical-methodological proposals that allow to interpret critically the historical-geographical conditions in which the society develops will be discussed. Elements that will help to understand the existing links between geographical space, territory and region.
