To train highly trained human resources in the professional practice of their area, socially committed to clinical care and the solution of priority problems related to oral health from the newborn to the adolescent; that they are capable of working in interdisciplinary teams and in academic networks, at national and international levels, through a professional exercise with an ethical, reflective and humanistic sense.
Specific objectives
- Promote specialized professional development in pediatric dentistry, with a critical sense of oral-maxillofacial problems, based on the scientific and technical foundation of the discipline, for its pertinent and timely resolution.
- Develop in the student a critical, reflective and humanistic thinking for the understanding of the health-disease process as an integral phenomenon, determined by the individual and social conditions
- Stimulate the analysis of the social and institutional conditions in which it carries out specialized training in pediatric dentistry.
- Promote the relationship and interaction between pediatric dentistry and other dental and medical specialties.
- To promote the critical analysis of the pertinent odontological literature in the field of pediatric dentistry, for its reflexive and critical application in clinical work.
- Diagnose, plan, execute, evaluate and monitor the rehabilitation treatment instituted, in connection with the different dental and medical disciplines if applicable.
